I beg to differ. Open servers offer much more than you will ever realize. If pull was universally allowed again I can guarantee players' skill levels would skyrocket. Just one man's opinion...

I agree with you to some extent Sinister but, this is what i mean by open servers dont show much skill. There are players, to keep from starting a riot I will not say their names, that intentionally go into servers to boost their rep by using disrespected or cowardice tactics. This to the untrained eye will make the player look better than they actually are. The reason you see this a lot, like you said, their is not pulling which seems to be an equilizer for servers. They're is also a lot of headhunting, scrapping, etc. Which I know is part of the game but, when you go into a server and say for instance someone kills you then that player automatically thinks they are better then you because they killed you in an open server. However, to everyone else who has played the game correctly then know this to be anything but true. I know this is how some of your minds are wired and your assumtions during open servers can be incorrect. However, there are many times when the best player will simply dominate a server because there is no one to compete in which case the open server would have proved something. Now I'm interested in what you think it means because i like gaining new perspectives on a topic like this so anyone who has a comment dont be shy.

Well of course there are headhunters and scrap fighters. What you're saying is essentially what I have told you before lol. Now, if you are being headhunted, although it is irritating, in my opinion it is an opportunity to improve. On the other hand, if you are the headhunter... let me just say this to you: All you guys and gals who go in servers and specifically scrap/headhunt players... you're not improving. You don't learn squat from getting a free kill on someone, regardless of their skill. Point being... ya gotta get your ass kicked to kick ass.

Open servers are usually barbaric and chaotic, at least nowadays. Ya got noobs stealing kills unknowingly, spawn camping galore, etc etc... and although it can become tedious, you can get better in those situations. I glanced at the abyss players list last night and JOG Jeff was in there with a bunch of noobs. Needless to say his score wasn't great... you could argue he wasn't trying, but if ya know Jeff ya know he was trying lol. I think that proves my point.

lol...he did come in half way through tho and people stole his kills like crazy...I almost stole his but then gave it back and then he immediately put me on his friends list. lol silly jog jeff

Anyways, it is very hard to get a good score without scrapping, cause there is so much going on that you can't help to get scrapped from behind yourself. But I guess, like you said sin, that would make you a better and more alert player. You always gotta be watching and looking for any sign of the enemy or else you will get scrapped, so yea I would say it helps you to get better.
