"In what might be the briefest press release we've ever received from a major publisher announcing a new chunk of DLC for an über-successful game, Activision revealed that another set of five multiplayer maps for Modern Warfare 2 will drop on Xbox Live on June 3. We know two things about said maps so far: They're coming in a set called the "Resurgence Pack," and their release will be heralded by two double XP weekends on May 28 and June 4.

Now, that's what we know. What we assume is that the pack will feature a mix of new maps and renovated versions of Call of Duty 4 maps -- perhaps a bit more of the latter, given the title of the bundle. What we also assume is that the "Resurgence Pack" will carry the $15 price tag of the "Stimulus Package" (it worked well enough before). We'll contact people in the know to see if we can squeeze out any firmer details."

After the announcement of the “Resurgence” Map Pack launching in under a month, during a recent interview with Larry “Major Nelson” Hyrb, Robert Bowling let the names and some details slip about the new, and old maps.

Firstly, the maps coming back from Call of Duty 4 are;

* Strike, an urban warzone.
* Vacant, the abandoned office complex, in which the gated areas are now opened inside the map.

The new maps are;

* Carnival, an abandoned theme park, featuring an over-run rollercoaster, and all your expected rides and attractions. He mentioned that a Bombsite would be coverable from inside a hot-dog vendor stall. It’s set during the day time. It’s also possible to get on top of the rollercoaster and fun house and camp. This map was meant to be in the first pack, but was pushed back to the second as it features new visuals.
* Trailer Park, featuring tight lines of site, mazes of movement, a pool area. This level is the living quarters for the people who worked in the Boneyard. Robert Bowling described it as literally a maze, full of chokepoints.
* Fuel, a completely unique map, essentially a sniper haven. Full of wide open line of sights. Fuel is set to be even bigger then Overgrown, and feature 2 sections of combat areas. It’s set on an oil refinery. The biggest part is an office complex and warehouse.

As expected, the Resurgence Map Pack will be 1200MSP.

Vacant and Strike have REALLY improved. And I'm glad they are also adding 2 maps from the campaign that were never added. And that roller coaster one just looks...weird...

They didn't just finish the stimulus, it's been done for months... I'm sure this map pack has also been done for months. They are intially (and purposely) excluded from the game and later used as gimmicks to draw in more profit, that's all.

I most likely won't be buying them considering I am over MW2, so Cahan, Devil and Younes ya'll gonna have to fend for yourselves lol. Although I will admit carnival looks sick and I always loved vacant...

Eh, you'd think it'd be in there best interest to wait till we got tired of the new maps, but on the other hand I can see how they would want us to have like 10 new maps so that when the old maps come around in the playlist they wont seem as old. The one thing I don't like about the stimulus pack, is that they always put me in games against a clan of hacked 10th or abunch of people who shoot down kill streaks...

I think it would be really cool if they put the Cod4 Map Pack in Mw2 (Chinatown, Broadcast, Creek, Killhouse), however they should swap creek with a new map because that's just sniper camping the whole time.. They should also bring back Shipment because that was one the funnest maps ever.
